Assemble the team or do it alone.
Equip yourselves: Gather a large piece of paper or a whiteboard along with some pens.
Define the challenge: Clearly articulate and write down the challenge you are facing. Ensure that everyone comprehends the nature of the challenge at hand.
Explore the WHY: Pose the question to the group - "Why do we have this challenge?" Engage in an open discussion and collectively formulate an answer. This answer will serve as the foundation for the subsequent step.
Repeat and delve deeper: Iterate step 4, asking "Why?" and engaging in discussions until you feel that you have identified the root cause of the challenge. Aim for a maximum of 5 iterations to maintain focus and efficiency.
